In connection with the Curly World Seminar 2026, a Danish Official Qualifying Obedience Test will be held in accordance with DRK rules.
The Qualifying Obedience Test is a basic obedience and retrieving test.
A passed test qualifies the dog to enter official retrieving tests in Denmark: DRK Debutant Test and Beginner Class Field Trial B as well as Working Tests in Beginner Class.
Dogs that have passed an equivalent FCI-approved test in their home country are also eligible to enter these trials.
Eligibility
- The dog must be at least 8 months old on the day of the test.
Test Procedure
Each dog is tested individually on a predefined course with five marked points. The judge follows the dog and handler around the course at an appropriate distance.

Test Elements
Obedience
The test starts at Point 1.
The handler walks the dog on lead, at heel, from Point 1 to Point 2 and onward to Point 3.
At Point 3, the handler receives a 500 g canvas dummy from the judge and places it on the ground.
The handler and dog then proceed approximately 15 metres towards Point 4. They turn to face the dummy, the dog is taken off lead and, on the judge’s signal, sent back to retrieve the dummy.
After the retrieve, handler and dog continue, off lead and at heel, to Point 4, then to Point 5, and back to Point 2.
At Point 2 the dog is sat or laid down. The handler walks to Point 1. On the judge’s signal, the dog is called in. The dog remains off lead and must stay calm while the judge walks down to Point 1.
Retrieving
The handler stands at Point 1 with the dog in position, off lead.
The handler throws a 500 g canvas dummy approximately 15 metres. On the judge’s signal, the dog is sent to retrieve. The dummy must be delivered directly to hand. You do not have to await the judge’s signal before getting the dummy from the dog.
Gunshot
The dog sits or stands beside the handler.
The judge moves 4–6 metres away and fires a shot using a 6 mm signal pistol.
The test then concludes.
Terrain
The test is held on flat grassland or lawn. The course consists of five marked points.
General Regulations
- Each dog may only be tested once per day, but may enter on multiple days.
- Treats are not permitted during the test.
- Loud handling of the dog is not allowed.
- The handler may not physically handle or touch the dog during the test.
- The handler may not carry a stick, whip or any other object.
- The handler may use their own dummy provided that it:
- is a standard 500 g canvas dummy,
- contains no fur, skin or similar materials,
- is handed to the judge before the test begins.
- Doping: Dogs must not be under medication that sedates or stimulates behavior or performance.
- Bitches in heat: Not allowed to participate or be present in the test area.
- Illness/injury: Dogs showing signs of illness, lameness, or visible pregnancy may not participate.
- Bitches with puppies under 8 weeks old: Not allowed to participate.
- Neutered males: May participate with a veterinary certificate confirming two normally developed testicles prior to castration.
- Chemically castrated males: Only permitted if a voluntary breeding ban is registered on DKK’s Hundeweb.
- Cryptorchid males: May participate with veterinary certification and documentation of registered cryptorchid status and breeding ban on DKK’s Hundeweb.
According to the DRK regulations, each dog may only participate in one official test per day. This means that if you need to pass the Official Qualifying Obedience Test before entering a Working Test or a DRK Test, the obedience test must be passed at least the day before.
It is, however, permitted to enter an official test in advance even if the qualification has not yet been achieved, as long as you expect to pass the obedience test before the test you have entered.
Entry
The Qualifying Obedience Test is official. Entries must be made via Nemtilmeld.
More information about entry can be found under the “Registration” tab in the menu above.
