Training mechanisms, timing and details
In this engaging two-hour session, our guest speaker looks at how training mechanisms, precise timing, and attention to detail influence everyday family dogs, general obedience work, and hunting dog training. You will gain practical tips on learning processes, motivation, and communication – from using different rewards such as treats, toys, and play, to adjusting your level of support so your dog truly understands what is being asked.
The talk also covers how to build clear step-by-step goals, help dogs adapt to everyday rules, and create structure and boundaries without creating conflict. A highly practical and inspiring session packed with useful tools you can take home and apply straight away.
Irene Jarnved

I have worked professionally with canine behaviour for more than 35 years, beginning with family dogs and, for the past 25 years, specialising in gundogs.
Through my platform I educate instructors, behaviour counsellors and gundog trainers and offer private lessons and courses. My work includes casting and training dogs for film and commercials, consulting for the Danish Kennel Club (DKK), suitability testing of visiting dogs for dementia care, webinars, international seminars and four books on canine behaviour.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based learning theory and focuses on trust, clear communication, structured goals, motivation through a strong dog–handler relationship, and the creation of the right emotional state so training becomes meaningful and motivating for the dog.
